Mindfulness Training Programm

About Me

My name is Jill Stallard, and I have worked with children and young people for many years.
After leaving School, I studied Residential Care at College and went on to work as a Support worker in a Children’s Home in Aberdeen.
I later trained as an early years’ practitioner, and for almost 17 years I cared, supported and taught children in various settings, during this time, l also worked as an emergency foster carer.
For the last ten years, I have worked in a Secondary School, where I support young people with stress and anxiety, delivering mindfulness sessions to groups and individuals. I also provide the “Seasons for Growth” programme. This programme supports young people with grief and significant loss.
I have continued to develop personally and professionally and have undertaken several training courses including Mindfulness, Mental Health First Aid, Counselling Skills, Hypnotherapy and NLP Coaching.

Benefits of Mindfulness

When working with young people, I aim to help them resolve issues that have been holding them back and help them to create goals for the future.

Mindfulness helps young people to engage with the present moment rather than worrying about the future or the past. After the 8-week Mindfulness programme, young people report that they are more focused, feel calm, confident and relaxed and that they feel better equipped to deal with painful emotions. Mindfulness training also has a substantial positive impact on their social skills, which will help them to build up strong relationships.

Foundations of Mindfulness
